Recent snow has melted and the temperature rocketed up to nearly forty. There wasn't much wind today and roads were dry, so I went out for a ride that was somewhere between nippy and brisk. Legs were still sore from the trainer, so I spun the first climb out of Watkins and didn't expect much, which was exactly what I got. After catching a slight tailwind approaching the hill, the wind shifted to the north and I did five miles of headwind as soon as I crested the hill. The effort on the hill kept me warm and the hazy sun and light breeze kept the temperature tolerable although it wasn't really pleasant. Climbed a little better on the second short climb with a slight crosswind and climbed fairly well on the third climb out of Dundee with the north wind aiding my climb. Temperature was only in the mid thirties in Dundee for some odd reason. Really suffered on the last downhill as my fingers got cold and brittle. Construction has started on the main drag in Watkins which is sure to create problems in the near and far future. Didn't do much today but burn some calories and it turned into another ride that will soon be forgotten. No other riders or runners were sighted today.
