I took off intending to ride to Furman and back so I got after it as hard as a fat old man can. Once there I decided to push on for a quarter and since I had my average up I went ahead and continued to push. This is the first time in a long time that the air was dead still. No wind!!! I rode on to the gazebo in Travelers Rest then pushed it on home. I am getting the hang of when and how to stand on the pedals and that seems to make a lot of difference. Anyway this is the first time that I have averaged over 16 mph for a substantial ride. That isn't much for a real rider, but it's significant for me!
