Legs were pretty beat from yesterday's effort and kept putting today's ride off even though it was really nice enough to ride at six AM. Finally decided I would take a very easy day with a minimal effort climb up Jackson Hill and then Seymourville and then glide down into Horseheads then milk the tailwind home from Horseheads. Tried not to even look at the speedometer today and kept the bike in a gentle gear for the first climb. I did make a little effort when I got an impromptu cheerleading section from a bunch of field hands picking rocks in one of the fields along the road. I also got out of the saddle a little coming out of the gulch but got the six mile climb in with little damage to the legs. Wind wasn't too bad down Ridge Road but couldn't build up much speed as the road crews have replaced a half dozen culverts crossing the road and filled the trenches in with loose stone. I was elated to pass through the construction as it would seem that new pavement will not be far behind. I hope it won't be oil and stone. Had good speed back down SR 14 again with little effort and felt more rested after the ride than I did when I started. Thought about doing a bonus hill but didn't want to risk spoiling a good day and was satisfied with the short easy ride.
