Had a six hour drive to Virginia for a metric century in the morning and stopped about half way in Pennsylvania to get some miles in an break up the drive. Stopped at the trail head for the Buffalo Valley Trail in Lewisburg PA, Rode on the trail for the first paved mile then got off and rode on SR 45 that runs parallel to the trail. Wanted to get at least twenty miles and ended up with thirty. Legs were tight for the first half hour but loosened up as the ride progressed. It was sunny and in the eighties with light wind and riding was great. I would have loved to put more miles in, but also wanted fresh legs tomorrow morning, so I turned around after fifteen miles and passing through Hartleton. Nice little town with chickens pecking around the front yards. Had to get back on the trail for a section through one town as there was construction and a single lane for a mile or so. Got back on the trail on the way back to again avoid the construction and stayed on it. The gravel wasn't too bad when I was going downhill back to Lewisburg, and it wasn't bad riding. Saw quite a few freaky looking characters on the trail, but they seemed harmless as long as I kept my speed up. So got some easy miles in on a spectacular riding day.
