Today I headed out after work knowing that I had to stop at Furman and change to watch a baseball game. I rode to Cleveland Park and cut across downtown to get on the Trail at Linky Stone Park. I rode north fighting the wind at times and sat in a crosswind for a while. As I approached Travelers Rest there were a pile of lights staked along the trail along with some very large speakers. They were there for about a mile going into TR. I couldn't figure that out. I rode on to the north end of the Trail and turned back south. I got off the Trail at the cemetary over a mile north of TR and took Lindsey Lake over to Tubbs Mountain Road. I went north on Tubbs Mountain to Bowers and turned off it to skirt around ubbs Mountain to White Horse Road Extension. On Bowers there is a large section of the woods cleared out and fill with 16 new homes and two lots cleared to start building.I made it to WHE and turned right for a 1/2 mile to get to Tubbs Mountain Road and the quick climb up Tubbs Mountain. The ride down Tubbs is always exciting, but today I was fighting a stout headwind to get down the mountain. I followed the road back into TR and worked my way back to the Trail and headed south to Furman. I was at the game in the third inning and watched Furman win in aggravating fashion, but a win is a win. And they really needed this win for their spot in the upcoming conference tournament.
