Plan for the day was two do a short two climb course in the morning and then complete building my time trial bike when the parts came in and then practicing on a ten-mile course in the afternoon. Morning ride went well as I started with a twelve percent climb up Skyline. Stayed in the saddle as wanted to save the big muscles for the afternoon. Had a decent climb and then spun a headwind to the second shallow climb up to Logan. Wind kept the speed down but felt strong. Coasted from Logan down to SR 414 and caught the tailwind home. The highway has some good views of the lake and fast downgrades but has a poor shoulder. Passed an oncoming tandem just past Hector. Had a descent average by the bottom of the hill in Watkins but lost it getting through traffic. Parts came in for the bike but ran out of time to ride or even finish the assembly as domestic chores delayed me as had to get things set for a week or so in Virginia.
