Stopped off on the way to VA to take a break and get a few miles in. Started out on the Buffalo Valley Trail in Lewisburg, PA. Trail is mostly hardpacked crushed fine stone over its ten-mile length although the first and last mile are paved. It is an old railroad bed and rises slightly to Mifflinburg, PA in farm country. Not the greatest trail I've ridden but good for a few easy miles. There were quite a few walkers and a few cyclists on the trail today. Went out on the trail at an easy pace, mostly due to frequent crossings of sideroads, then got off at Mifflinburg and continued west on SR 45 to get in some extra miles and a couple rolling climbs. Returned on SR 45 and liked riding on it much more than the trail. Shoulder is wide in most places though traffic was rather heavy. Would have liked to ride farther as there are some appealing looking sideroads I would have liked to explore but wanted to get to VA before dark and the forecast raining started. Got some low-quality miles in but miles are miles.
