Cold North wind was blowing again and so kept the ride short and hilly in an attempt to hide from the said wind. Did my short north wind hill time trial course where I attempt to climb three hills and keep the average above fifteen. Started off well on the two mile Dug Road climb or at least on the steep section at the bottom. Middle section was a bit lacking but rallied a little over the final section and got my average up to 10.2. That is a fairly decent time for me and anything over ten gives me a good shot at the fifteen overall. Second climb which is usually the easiest wasn't today because of the winds and or making a hard effort on the first climb. It was mainly a cross wind but had to fight it just to keep going straight much less up hill. Downhill wasn't too bad as I was able to tuck and keep a low profile. Started the final steep climb at 12.6 with the requirement to crest at over eleven to have a shot. Did nothing fancy on the steep section and actually suffered more on the top section dead into the wind and was able to crest at twelve. Did okay on the second downhill section and through the rollers but had to keep my speed down on the final steep decent. Now that the trees have leaves they were causing shady spots on the road, and I was unable to max my speed and still spot potholes. Still got into Watkins in fine shape and hit the final two flat miles of tailwind in the upper twenties. Caught the final light green which was the last hurdle of the ride. Ended up with a fifteen three average. Not really that great of a time for the effort but a slight improvement for me and one of my better times.
