Tried to get a short ride in between the showers today and succeeded but it was a painful ride. Slipped on the wet wooden steps caring out my bicycle. This is my third fall on the same steps. My cleats and the steps just don't seem to mesh. Did some major twisting to keep from falling on the bike or my face and landed fairly well. Did some minor damage to my left knee and shoulder and some major damage to my left foot. Thought I might have broken a toe as it appears one of the digits got stuck in the forward shoe vent and while my foot twisted in the shoe the toe did not. It was extremely painful and I was hesitant to remove my shoe as was afraid if there was swelling I wouldn't be able to get the shoe back on. Since I didn't see any blood soaking through the shoe, I headed out for my ride. Toe continued to burn for a couple of miles and finally started to go numb halfway up Jackson Hill. I was climbing quite poorly but rallied once I got through the steep section and got to Catherine with a common ten point one. Hit a headwind on the rest of the climb to Seymoreville and struggled to get a rather lacking nine six at the top. Did very little else on remainder of ride except some downhill coasting and mild tailwind spinning. Took my shoe off after I got home and found the middle toe was intact but a really ugly dark purple color. Not much could be done even if it was broken, so as long as it doesn't swell too much I should survive,
