Back to riding hills today and this ride's elevation is mostly gained in one long seven mile climb in the first quarter of the ride. Wonderful day for riding with perfect seventies temperature and a light wind to help with cooling. Put in the effort on the climb, and it turned out okay. It was pretty much sit and spin steady for forty minutes watching the drips of sweat splatter on the forks or the road. The normal reward for the climb was a bit disappointing today as the town was cleaning ditches on Sebring Hill. Where this is usually a fifty mile an hour plus downhill, today it was interrupted by a flagman. After the big climb and big downhill the remainder of the ride is rollers through the countryside to Dundee. The roads in this section are much improved as the surface is now smooth and even, whereas last year it felt like riding on railroad tracks from all the seam cracks between road slabs. After a steep little climb to Dundee and another small climb out of Dundee to Lakemont, it was a tailwind down SR 14 overlooking Seneca Lake. Final downhill is still corrupted with construction and further slowed things down. Nice riding today with some decent climbing put in.
