Opted for an easy day with a mountain century coming up tomorrow and a four-hour drive to the next location in Radford, VA. Decided to see how far I could get on the Colonial Parkway. Turns out not very far as only got seven miles in before I got to the road closed for construction. Returned on the start along the highway as really didn't want to return on the rough surface of the Parkway. It was fairly scenic with the first five miles running beside the James River. The scenery wasn't worth the extra effort of riding on stone. Took another loop around Jamestown Island but that isn't worth a repeat either because of the many rough surface bridges. The next loop was along a river bike path which was kind of fun, but it really is more of a walking trail than a cycling one. Pretty much a bunch of trash miles but wanted to rest the legs before tomorrow.
