Got an early start today in an attempt to avoid an ever increasing North wind. Didn't work out well though as the wind was nasty and it was only 55 F. Worked against the wind until the climb out of Dresden where my legs became empty and nearly useless. Had to go into Death Ride mode and just try to get the ride overwith as it was definitely not enjoyable. Also ran over a construction staple and had a double puncture. Fortunately I was running my No-Tubes and pulled the staple and the the two holes sealed with little or no loss of air. Just hopped back on and kept going. It had warmed up into the mid-sixties by the time I got to Geneva and at least I wasn't cold anymore. Picked up a slight tailwind heading toward Ovid but legs were still empty and counted telephone poles to pass the time. Picked up a strong tailwind once cresting the hill in Ovid and had a good run back to Watkins. Had a bothersome incident coming down the hill into Watkins when it felt like I hit something. Had a huge amount of spoke noise, swaying rear end and pedals locked up. Wasn't sure what happened at first as I tried to keep control, brake and get a shoe out of the pedal. First thought was that my frame had cracked or my rear wheel had collapsed. Once I got stopped I found out that my water bottle had come out of the cage and was pulled into the space between the wheel and the chainstay. When that happened it rotated my cadence sensor on the chainstay until it interfered with the pedal arm. The only permanent damage appeared to be the water bottle which had the bottom nearly cut off by the spokes. Got a nice adrenilin rush out of it which made the remainder of the ride a whole lot better.
