I actually went to bed last night thinking I wasn't going to ride today (nor tomorrow) due to the inclement forecast. As I was getting up this morning, the radar showed everything to be pretty clear in the area, and the forecast said that it should be alright this morning, with chance of scattered showers this afternoon. As I got my shower & stuff, I continued to think about the possibility of riding, and the fact that I would potentially only get one commuting day in (on Friday). So, I decided to give it a go this morning (with slightly favorable conditions) and take my chances this afternoon. Besides, it's been my experience in the past that if I didn't ride, it wouldn't rain - an axiom of Murphy's Law - then where would I be?
And then for the ride home...
I checked the internet around 3:30, and radar was showing some thunderstorms moving through the area - the area being between I-270 & I-170, from I-44 to the Airport. So I figured I'd have to work a little OT for it to pass and then ride home on somewhat wet streets.
About a quarter after five, I checked radar again, and all the stuff that was heading toward my neck of the woods had pretty much disappeared or moved on. I took a little walk to poke my head outside and sure enough the ground was wet, but the sky above to pretty clear (w/dark clouds to the north). I was at a breaking point (and had my 8 hours in for the day), so I decide to go change and hit the road. Turns out the roads were pretty dry, too.
Other than the humidity (which was mostly noticable while sitting at traffic lights) it was a pleasant, dry ride home!
