North wind is blowing again but it was still fairly warm despite the lack of sunshine. Not sure how the legs were going to feel yet and went for another short ride with two good climbs. Started up Old Odessa Hill out of the saddle but cracked early and sat back down. Spin was still there so recovered quickly and ended up with a low 10.5 to Odessa. Started to feel better on the second half of the climb up SR 228 to Smith Valley and got the average back up to 12.5 at the top of the climb. Had mostly crosswinds to Mechlenberg and they didn't hurt me as much as they did last time I did this ride. Pulled into Mechlenberg with a 16.5 which wasn't bad considering the poor first climb but my chances of finishing with an eighteen didn't look good. Did the climb out of Mechlenberg in the big chainring without much trouble and had a strong run back through Bennettsberg. Opted out of going through Watkins that is the normal course and cut across CR 9 to Skyline and finished with a fast steep descent. Ended up happily over seventeen and legs appear to have recovered and put out a good effort today.
