This morning I took off in light fog and with it spitting slightly. I turned on my lights and hit the roads and trail. Once downtown I got on Main Street as there is a big cycling event to end Bike Month. But the police said "no nikes allowed." So I headed on to the trail. Just as I arrived at the Cafe a large group of people dressed in camouflage, carrying signs, flags, banners, and a gurney were entering the trail. I saw them again coming back south. They were at the Sulphur Springs pocket park and having a word of prayer or a moment of silence. While riding north i heard a pair of loud cracks then a tree or large limb came crashing down about 50 feet off the trail. South of Furman the trail was heavily littered with leaves and twigs and limns were laying along the trail. On campus the washouts were everywhere, which made it a challenge to pick your way up and down the trail. I stopped at the Creamery and read Jenn's for sale sign. It was written in typical Jenn style. Coming out of TR I stopped at the new Farmer's Market to check it out. Then it was hit the trail and hustle back south. It was lightly raining most of the way south. I stopped for a drink at TTR.
