 That was different...
There were three cars lined up in the right hand lane as I rolled up Brown Rd approaching the Rock Rd. One happens on occasion, two is very rare, but three? And there were no cars in the left of the two through lanes. I took my place behind the third car and made sure I was shifted into the correct gear for starting up again, especially since it was uphill to get to the intersection.

As we all sat there waiting for the light to cycle, a large truck (a flatbed hauling a small forklift) rolls up behind me, and still no one in the left lane. Knowing this light like I do, I know I will barely make it through the light on the green and highly doubt the truck will. As the light begins to cycle, allowing the two left-turn lanes to proceed, I peeked around the truck behind me to make sure no vehicle was comming up towards the light and made my way up the left lane, passing the three cars that were in front of me.

Part of my thinking here is that 98% of the cars in the right lane turn right at the side street just a couple dozen yards past the Rock Rd - that's also where the two lanes merge into one to continue south on Brown Rd. I got to the intersection as the through light turned green, making it through the intersection ahead of those three cars that all turned right onto that side rode. As for the truck, he made it through the light too, and continued south on Brown Rd, passing me as I road along the shoulder that appears as the two lanes merge into one.
