North wind has finally taking a rest and a weak south wind has warmed it up a little, but with the haze the sunlight didn't really heat things up. So it was an odd day as I dripped sweat on the climbs and the nose ran on the down hills. Did some climbing today but with limited effort. Took a scenic route up Old Odessa Hill then out on Grant Road to hit the wood lined back road to Cayutaville. There really weren't many leaves on the trees yet, but the fields and yards are looking pretty green. Missed the sheep at the top of the climb as it looks like they have been replaced with a hay field. Didn't miss the big St Bernard that used to threaten me on this route. Perhaps they took each other out in an epic battle. Kept an easy pace and navigated around most of the area climbs in the latter part of the ride by going through Perry City and Reynoldsville. Warmed up nicely by the end of the ride. Had a very chilling as occurrence after the descent into Watkins as the temperature at the head of the lake had to be twenty degrees less than it was at the top of the hill in Burdett. The cold lake has sucked up all the heat from Watkins it appears.
