Came down Jackson Hill yesterday and it didn't appear to be that steep as I went down it. I have done the climb at least a hundred times and it really is one of the lowest rated climbs in the area. So properly psyched up I started my first of two climbs of the day. Stayed in the saddle and put out a steady effort and came out way short of a good time with only an 10.1 average at Catherine. Did much better on the second part of the climb up Ridge Road to Seymoreville Heights and ended the total climb with a 10.1 which is my average good time of late. So overall did okay especially since the second half of the climb was into a light headwind. Kept the hammer in check on the downhill to Horseheads and kept a steady pace on the small hill up Wygant Road. Next climb was up Chambers road. It is a long fairly shallow climb with three steps to it. Had to wait at the bridge construction at the base of the climb as it is only one lane now. Tried to keep a good rhythm and made out pretty well to about the fourth mile of the climb where I petered out. Had a good descent to Chambers but then struggled a bit to get home despite the tailwind and downgrade over the last ten miles. Pretty good day on the bike with lots of climbing but nothing steep or torturous. Need to really improve on the climbing if I want to get my average speed out of the you suck zone though.
