Been off the bike for a couple of days in part due to tired legs but mostly due to two days of significant rain and cool weather. Got back on the bike late today but figured I could get thirty in before dark. It was still cloudy and cool and rain threatened but I thought I might get lucky. headed up Old Odessa Hill then out to Mechlenburg. First ten miles is a half mile of steep climbing then several miles of moderate grade. Felt fairly good on the climb but wasn't really pushing it since I planned on doing some hard climbing tomorrow. Actuaaly saw another rider out tonight, a Cookie rider who was coming down the grade into Odessa. Rode smooth out to Mechlenburg then pushed the climb out of town. When I got to the top it started to rain but it wasn't a soaking rain so didn't really adversely affect the ride. Downhill was fun and coasted most of the way. Found a Leatherman Micra on the bridge in Watkins and thanked the road gods for my good fortune. Never really got back up to speed after turning around and stopping to retrieve the Micra and so ended up soft pedaling and still a little sore back to home.
