Went out to do some climbing today and started out with a fairly good climb up Steuben Street. Legs felt good again. Continued climbing grades for another few miles up SR 414 to Chambers. Second climb was up Chambers Road to Catlin. Thought I'd be able to do another good climb, but it wasn't the case today. Legs bogged down as the slope hit thirteen percent and the struggling commenced. Didn't really crack but lost the flow and turned in a poor climb. Rallied some as the slope dropped below eight percent and was rewarded with new pavement on the downhill to Horseheads. Last time I descended that road it was a dodge the potholes at high speeds adventure. Now it's smooth all the way to the bottom. Did a good bit of coasting as still had one more climb to do and hoped the climbing muscles would recover. Last climb was up Ridge Road to Odessa. It is really three small step climbs, but it is a good six miles of climbing to the ridge above Seymourville. Didn't break any records but had good flow. Tried to push the speed on the descents into Odessa and Montour to get the average up to fifteen but failed again. Still had two good climbs and it was nice to ride with only a light wind.
