This morning I took off to ride over Paris Mountain. I try to ride the mountain every other week. I was on Beverly Road going to the mountain when I am pretty sure that I met Angie B, a young (compared to me) woman from church. Then about a quarter of a mile later I met a small group riders and my work friend Lou was second in line. I hollered his name as they passed by. Later on I was stopped at Ally Kat's for a drink and I called Lou. Sure enough that was him and he had turned around to catch me before I got to the mountain. But he saw me turn onto State Park as he was getting off of Beverly and turned back. Anyway I climbed the Greenville side of the mountain, then took Tower Drive onto the summit. I spent a fair time at the summit praying for several friends and some situations. Then it was back down the TR side of the mountain. I was on the brakes so much going down the mountain that it made my hands ache. I rode on to US 25 and turned back which should have given me 25 miles by the time I got home. Just after passing the "Mustang House" I saw that I was being chased by a pace line. They passed me one at a time and were all wearing black with blue Vision kits. Lou said that is a local team. I went back to Furman and got on the Swamp Rabbit. It was absolutely wall to wall with riders, joggers, walkers, skaters, and a little bit of everything else! But that is to be expected on a nice weekend morning. I stopped at Ally Kats for a Gatorade and talked with her grandpa. That's when I called Lou. I told him and later told Ally that I had seen the article in GO magazine about Ally Kats. After stopping and chatting for quite a while I headed for the house. I pulled in as the odometer hit 25.0 miles.
