Heat and humidity were both very high today. Had a short hard climbing day yesterday and planned on something more moderate todaybut still with a good couple of climbs. Started out up Jackson Hill and did nothing out of the saddle today and still had the sweat dripping profusely. Had a fairly good climb even staying in the saddle and put some effort in the second half of the climb to score a respectable eleven at Catherine, Had a brief respite from the climbing by descending into Odessa before continuing up Grant Road on my way to Cayutaville. Best part of the ride up the eastern shore of Cayuta Lake is the shade that as of today is now my friend. Cruised comfortably to and through Cayutaville and over one more small climb before a long descent to Mechlenburg. Caught a good tailwind to T-Burg and then did the six mile climb to the tower through Steamburg. Had a fairly good steady climb in the big chainring. Easy day was over once I turned back into the wind that had decided to turn it up to eleven. Oncedown and out the crotch it was pretty much all downhill, but after the climbing the hot wind appeared to have sucked all the strength out of my legs. Did catch my second rider of the year after passing through Logan. He was going much slower than me but seemed to getting more enjoyment out of his ride. Finished off the ride with tired legs and a fifty mile an hour descent down Skyline.
