God awful hot on today's ride. Ride was pleasant as I rode through the forest and did the downhill from Newfield into Ithaca. Saw another club rider climbing out of Ithaca on 13. Ride turned unpleasant as I rode out of Ithaca and turned into the west wind as I left SR 96 at the top of the climb. Sun beat down with no shade and dry wind sucked the moisture from my body. Finished off all my water and still had another twenty to do to get home. For some reason my feet hurt when the weather gets hot and they became bothersome. Had to go into survival mode to finish the ride and spun the small gears at a relaxed touring speed. Suffered today but felt great when I got home and rehydrated. Best part of the day was when an insect flew into my jersey and I waited to get stung. Turned out to be a dragonfly though and I released him back into the wild. Having a dragonfly land on you is a very good omen.
