I waited until 5 to let the big heat start to lift and headed to East North down to Cleveland Park, then across downtown to River Street and picked up the Swamp Rabbit Trail going north. I detoured by Monaghan Mill condos again and continued north. When I came off the Furman campus to the new detour there was a man stopped and looking perplexed. He asked about the closure and detour, so I explained what I knew about it and the detour options. The official detour is a poor option so he decided to follow me on my detour around that section. Since he was on a hybrid we slowly tootled along and got back on the trail. We rode together to the gazebo where we exchanged some information and he went on north while I stopped for a drink and headed south to home. The Cobra was gone from the Mustang house.John is new to the area so I showed him how to get onto Paris Mountain and told him about the Tuesday night SCTAC ride. He wanted to know about the mountain bike trails on Paris Mountain but I know little about them.
