 More Climbing
Started off with a good climb this morning and was interested to see how well my legs had recovered after yesterday's sufferfest. Didn't go to well on the first knoll I encountered as it was a bit awkward as the body was a little stiff. Within a half mile of the start, felt much better as everything loosened up. Hit Jackson hill with an aggressive spin but stayed in the saddle even on the steep section around the curve. Climb went really well and was able to accelerate nicely once the steep section was out of the way. Didn't quite get the time I was looking for at Catherine but figured it was a pretty good climb and had to factor the awkward warmup into the time. Turned up Ridgeroad at Catherine and kept pressure on the pedals and crested the hill in good shape. With the climbing out of the way in the first six miles that left twenty miles of downhill. Pushed the big gear down Ridgeroad to Horseheads and watched the average speed climb in leaps and bounds. Made the turn onto SR 14 and after a brief run into the wind to the ridge at Pine Valley had only crosswinds and downhill remaining. Pushed hard enough to get the average up to eighteen which for me made a good strong ride.

Second ride of the day was some moderate climbing to Rockstream. Still felt good after the morning ride and enjoyed climbing in the warm sunshine. There was just a light breeze that kept the air moving enough to keep the air fresh without otherwise affecting the ride. Climbs both went well though there was nothing steep to contend with as the first hill modertes between four and seven percent and the hill out of Rockstream is around five. Finished off the ride with some fast coasting from Reading Center to Watkins and really enjoyed the quick twenty mile ride.
