 10 mile ITT Sixth Attempt
Conditions were similar to last week and really needed a good time on the course today as have to do two ITTs in competition on Sunday. Figured I would need to average twenty-four today to have a chance of being competitive based on past years records. Had a mild headwind on the way up that was the same as the last run. Started out fairly well pushing the speed up to twenty-five over the first flat section that was a little slower than last run but didn't want to overdo it as had dead legs yesterday. Slowed below twenty over miles two and three as just didn't have the much power and went into spin cycle for the rest of the ride. Did fairly well on the two steps though I wasn't able to get over twenty, I maintained a steady speed and didn't have any power outages over the top. Had a fair turn around but was half a mile an hour slower than last week.
Tried to make it up with high speeds on the back side but despite making the effort I wasn't able to beat last week's effort and ended up four tenths of a mile an hour slower. Checked the data and found the heart rate was there but produced ten watts less. Still was a decent effort but hopefully isn't the start of a downward trend. Hoping to shake the summer cold by the weekend.
