I went to the SCTAC Spinners ride tonight to get in on one of the group rides. I really don't like doing group rides and today's ride reenforced that! I got in a group that was supposed to average 16 mph but they were averaging over 18. I can do that if I draft the whole time, but drafting was very hazardous in this group. So I dropped off and used them to pace myself. But that pace was too much for me and they finally dropped me 23 miles out. I finished 32 miles at 16.3 mph. The ride started at 6 o'clock and it was 95 degrees. It had cooled down to 92 by the time I finished at 8 o'clock.
