Headed north for some more light climbing. Started out again up SR 14 out of Watkins before continuing on SR 14A to Reading Center. Did fairly well on the first highway climb and got through the steeper 14A section without issue. Had some momentum going through Reading but couldn't maintain the speed on the grades out of town. Intended to ride hard for an hour and then cruise the remainder. Only made about thirteen miles before my hour ran out. Coasted downhill into Dundee then headed up Chubb Hollow. It's a nice farm road with little traffic. Rode the six miles without seeing any cars at all before doing the second short climb of the day. After that it was fast downhills and tailwinds to Himrod. Ran through a brief shower that wasn't unwelcome except the road back to Glenora had been recently chip sealed. I was a bit concerned that the loose chips would cling to my wet tires and cause a puncture. Made good time back down SR 14 above the lake and thought I would end up with a decent time despite my lack of effort. Climbing a bit faster really helps with the average. Heading down the fast decent into Watkins my computer shut down. Was going too fast to do much about it and when I slowed down a bit was able to restart it. Fortunately it hadn't deleted my ride and only lost a mile. Unfortunately it was a mile at thirty-five miles an hour. Pleasant ride despite the shower. Climbing better but now appear to be lacking stamina. Hopefully the weather will remain dry and windless and will be able to up my weekly milage.
