It has stormed in the afternoon and evening the last two days. Plus I had a tire separate on the pickup and had to leave it at the tire place overnight Monday night then pick it up after work on Tuesday afternoon. Both trips to the tire shop were followed by violent storms that put off my riding. I think that I could have ridden late, but since I had eaten I didn't feel like it any more. Today the clouds came up right after work and it rained like everything - it just wasn't violent like the last two days. Later the sun came out and I decided that it was time to ride. I wanted to try riding from the house since they resurfaced East North Street and changed it from a tight 4 lane to two lanes with a suicide lane and room to ride on either side. It was 3 1/2 miles from the house to the SRT. I nearly ran over a bicycle at Mayberry Park. I was going up the trail and this old guy coasted out from a side path without looking. When he looked up he saw me trying to stop but knew that he was about to get t-boned! He just got out of the way and yelled out an apology after I had gone by. I need to figure out a way to get by a couple of busy intersections that I can't trip the light. That really slowed me down! Since it had rained it was very humid and I was sweating even more profusely than I usually do. I was soaked and left a trail of sweat drops along the way.
