It was a bit cooler today only barely reaching the low nineties. Headed out to the north again today with the same climbs as yesterday up SR 14 & 14A out of Watkins. Planned on trying to ride an hour hard and then a more comfortable pace for a couple more hours. Actually had a fairly good climb into the wind and thought I was in good shape for at least a fast ride to Dundee. Only made it fifty minutes though before the legs went flat. Blew up on a short grade of five percent and had to back way off. Goal was fifteen for the first hour that would pretty much put me in Dundee. Ended up only being to handle a little over thirteen that left me still climbing after an hour. Picked up a little speed on the downhill to Dundee but was well short of my last attempt of this course. Seems I'm getting worn down. Had another six miles of slight grade with a final half mile kicker up Chubb Hollow. Really nice road especially after the kicker as then headed downhill eventually picking up a tailwind. I was able to keep a steady pace back across SR 14S and was able to get the average above fifteen on the fast downhill to Watkins without much effort. So actually doing better although still have too many soft spots to start getting faster times. Fairly entertaining ride overall and felt stronger than the last couple of rides.
