It rained like everything after work today but about an hour and a half later I headed out. The creeks were really up and running hard and there was a fair amount of standing water and debris washed out. My shortcut behind the Peace Center was closed so I had to go around. After I was about a mile north of the falls the area was bone dry. It was like that until north of Blue Ridge. Then it looked like they had spotty showers. Two guys were chasing me down and they passed me north of Sulphur Springs. Those guys were muscled up and really pumping hard. I caught them before we got off campus at Furman. I told Cis to meet me at the Whistle Stop Cafe for dinner. I had a half plate of shrimp and grits - very good. After eating my knees and thighs were really stiff. It took a long time to loosen up riding home. Going north through Furman the Bell Tower was playing "My Country Tis of Thee." Coming south there were hundreds of cars parked around the lake and there was a concert going on.
