Went out this morning for my 4th of July ride. Didn't do it on the 4th because of attending church in the AM, taking a nap after lunch in the PM, and we went over to see Bridgeton's fireworks. So, with today being a holiday I dawned my 'True Colors' jersey and did my usual 4th of July ride today.
I did have to take a detour from the usual route, since Missouri Bottom Rd is closed going down into the bottoms by the Mills. They are having to repair the side of the hill that holds up the road - it has been closed for months already, and will be closed for several more. So I turned left onto MO Bottom (instead of right) and then turned onto Fee Fee Rd, which turns into Gist Rd, crosses I-270 and then drops into the bottoms.
I must have hit the on/off button, somewhere around crossing 370 - the distance reading was still at 21.x upon crossing Graham Rd, otherwise I should have had over 30 mi.
Also today is a day of remembering for me, and my family, as it is the 12th anniversary of my father's passing.
