Thought it was time to try to do some serious miles after taking the long weekend off. Headed north to round Seneca. Stopped in Montour and helped push a car that had run out of gas to a station. Not the easiest thing to do in cleats but it qualified for my good deed for today.Paving again on the stretch between MF and Watkins but riding on the fresh pavement was a thrill.Caught a good tailwind up the first climb and kept the hammer down, such as it is, until Geneva and ended up over 19 mph average. Wind had shifted primarily to the west and had good speed to Ovid or at least to the foot of the climb. Legs finally gave out on the climb which really isn't to bad of a climb though rather long. Stopped and topped off the fluids at the station in Ovid and was looking forward to a good stretch of road on the way back to Watkins but was disappointed as I couldn't get the legs fired back up after the stop. Wind picked up and had to ride almost straight into it back to Valois which really dampened the speeds on the downhill. Struggled back to Watkins and headed down the bike trail to avoid the construction. Finished the ride totally drained.
