It was raining after work today but it quickly passed and I watched Stage 5 of the TdF to let the heat drop a bit. Instead of heading into town I turned and went through Cleveland Park then skirted downtown and caught the Swamp Rabbit on River Street. I took it on north to the closure but instead of going to Washington I turned left and went around the old Monaghan Mill Condos. Then I took the SRT north through Furman and on to the gazebo in TR. After a quick Gatorade at the Gazebo it was south on the trail back home. The only deviation from my normal route was that I turned left at Mt. Calvary and went around the hump bridge. There was another cyclist that was bypassing the hump bridge as well, but a car ran a stop sign and nearly got him. He yelled (no obscenities) at eh car as it passed by him. I had a car try to turn left across me at Main Street and got buzzed by a red van on Park Avenue. It was a bad night for bad drivers.
