Legs felt much better today and had a good climb up New Odessa with an average time. Had a good tailwind to the Junction and spun well but had to pick up the pace on the last two mile downgrade to make the timecheck. Speed picked up well on the rollers to Van Etten and had a good run to SC 13. Kept a strong cadence on the approach to the Arnot Forest climbs and had another good climb to the top. Encouraged by the good climbing I hammered the downhill to Newfield then the downhill to Ithaca. Unfortunately missed my intended turn as I had planned on doing the Enfield road climb at the park. Guess that is what I get by keeping the head down. Started down 13A with the intention of revisiting SR 79 but then noticed Bostwick Hill road. Stopped and checked my map and saw that it crossed the Enfield Road so I headed up it. Hit some good steep sections but it wasn't a steady climb and had a few lesser sections I could spin and recover. Rode fairly conservitively on the climb as still had a little fear of bonking but enjoyed it quite a bit. Still felt okay as I rode over the top but after a steep decent to the Enfield Road my legs felt heavy after coasting. Still pedaled strongly but less agressively. Had visions of pulling off an eighteen average if I could hammer the climb out of Enfield and catch a good tailwind across SR 228. Lost my hammer though and tailwind didn't show up so couldn't keep the pace in the twenties for the last ten miles as the math demanded. Still had a good ride with two really good climbs and a third fair one. Legs also put out very well for the first forty and fairly well after that. Much, much better ride than my last trip to Ithaca.
