Over the Mountain to the Gazebo and around the Detour to Alley Kats
Late this morning I headed over to the Greenville side of Paris Mountain to make my bi-weekly climb. I was only a short way out before I realized that the humidity was going to be a real challenge. I was drenched only a couple of miles out. Usually at that point I haven't broken a sweat. I met what I am sure was the Sunshine Cycles group ride when I was climbing Hillrose. The last time I met them Lou was riding with them, but Lou is at the Grand Canyon with Jackie and the kids and the next 3 weeks he'll be in Norman. I was sweating very hard climbing the mountain but made it up without much trouble. I stopped at the summit for a drink and a couple of female cyclists were also stopped there drinking. Then I headed down the mountain and on north to the Gazebo in Travelers Rest. I turned back south down the trail and followed the detour and found that there is a neighborhood path that has been installed to the trail and it is a part of the detour. I stopped a t Alley Kats for a Gatorade then took my normal path home.
