After the deluge yesterday today was clear and hot. I waited until after five and headed out to go up the trail for ice cream. When I was climbing the hill on Broad Street I heard my name being called out. I turned back and found Mike taking his bike off his car rack. He said that he was going to ride over Paris Mountain. I asked him if he was going on Don's ride but he said that he was going with Pedal Chic. We rode together a couple of blocks and he turned up Main to go to Pedal Chic while I crossed Main to go to the Swamp Rabbit. Mike says that the doctors think he is now cancer free and he appears so much stronger than 9 months ago. I rode on up the trail to the creamery and had a blueberry/chocolate twist. Jenn was off today and Judy was behind the counter. On the ride south I met Mike and the gals from Pedal Chic as they were crossing the street on the south side of Furman. I had been drafting on a guy on campus so I passed him just south of campus and he drafted on me for a while. I met Don a couple of miles farther south, but I think that he was alone. I would like to have ridden with Don, but his ride is too late for me. I go to bed early because I get up early for work.
