Ride Description: I didn't hear from Jim about going to Kettle, and Sue is working, and I didn't feel like loading the bike to go do the Roun' da Manure ride out of Sharon, so I just went exploring new roads. After the local hills it was pretty flat. Saw quite a few riders from the Roun'da Manure. Almost Zero Traffic! Sweet! Out Blaine Road was a very nice ride, about 15 miles to Capron Rd. Went into Capron and had to wait nearly 5 minutes to cross the road because of a massive motorcycle "parade". All types of bikes, Harleys, Vintage, Custom, Choppers, Dakar style, Japanese Crotch Rockets... It was an organized ride as many were wearing identical lime green t-shirts. Stopped in Poplar Grove for Ice Cream and a Gatorade. Legs were tired after Ice Cream so I stayed on the Long Prairie Trail and rode it into Roscoe, were I ate at Sabrosa. Tried to keep the Avg. Speed over 15, but a headwind, hills, tired legs and a full stomach (1 too many Fajitas) dropped me just below the 15 mark. A very enjoyable ride. I noticed the RM 63 mile route comes down Atwood to Burr Oak to Crockett and out Elevator.
I went Warbler-Love-McCurry-Free Church-Krupke-Grade School-Blaine-Capron-Long Prairie-Stone Bridge-Roscoe to Sabrossa-Home. |
