 Classic Bike Ride
Installed a more forgiving set of cogs on my 87 Masi after quite a bit of searching the internet for the right parts. Seems 1987 had freewheels, freehubs, Uniglide, Hyperglide , and different threads and sizes for the free hub that I have. Part numbers didn't help me much but finally got enough parts that I could put a 25 tooth on to replace my 21. Didn't turn out to be a smooth transition over the range but couldn't see spending C-notes to make hills more manageable on a bike I don't plan on riding often. Planned on riding to Eldrige Park on Saturday but weather was most unpleasant, and my body is stressed out. Just road around town today to make sure the gears weren't too worn as ended buying used equipment. Felt good to be on the old machine but really didn't feel up to a longer ride.
