After some heavy overnight rain, then a fair amount of morning rain I wondered about the ice cream ride. But it had dried enough that I figured to go to the park and ride with or without the others. Once at the park I saw Ken in the parking lot then Mark. As we prepared to leave Don H. showed up as well. Ken was riding a vintage Raleigh 3-speed, Mark was riding a restored antique Swinn Super Sport, and Don was on his Salso Caseroll. So with the exception of my Gary Fisher Rail it was steel bike day.
The ride was at a very relaxed pace. Don found a tiny box turtle no bigger than a quarter working its way across the trail. He picked it up and placed it on the other side of the trail to keep it from getting run over. I spent a little time chatting with Ken, then Don, and finally with Mark. They are all three good guys and knowledgable on a variety of subjects.
I had an orange/vanilla large twist. I was about to ask Jenn where Judy was when Judy walked in.
Even though it was slow and wet, it was a good ride.
