Our second road bike race. Although it would be cool to ride the 50 miler, because it goes right past the cabin, but I like the shorter Fantasy 50 (our computers show 30.9 miles, the official race mileage is 33 miles) because it's safer (less crowded) and we can finish in time to watch the 50 miler start, go get something to eat and watch the always exciting finish of the 50.

Our times where better than last year and we haven't been riding much this year.

While eating, the same girl we talked to last year, sat down at the same table and chatted again. She finished with our group just behind me. Also, after the race a woman came up and thanked us for "pulling" her the last 8 miles. Turns out she was the same woman that drafted us last year and left me in the dust! She said she beat her personal best time by a large margin. She also said she liked riding with us because we pointed out road hazards to the riders behind us.

It was a very fun time.

My picture of the FireHouse 50 winner safely navigating the treacherous final turn. And the exciting photo finish.
