I got up this morning and left the house around 8 to get on the Swamp Rabbit before it was too crowded. I took my normal route down East North, through Cleveland Park, across downtown, and onto the Swamp Rabbit on River Street. When I came to the SRT it was packed with runners, but also had run officials directing traffic and calling out times. I don't know what kind of run it was, but if there were serious runners they had gone by before I was on the trail. There were a lot of women, older men, and kids along the way. Once clear of the run the trail was moderately traded. From there it was a nice rid to the north end of the trail and back. There was a crowd gathered by the railroad car at Furman and there must have been 25 to 30 bikes parked outside Wilson's Hardware for breakfast. The smell the sausage, toast, and eggs permeated the morning air for blocks before and after Wilson's.
