Today I headed out to ride the Fairforest/ICAR route to get in some hills. About 2 or 3 miles out I started to boink. I thought that I had eaten enough before I left, but apparently not. There is little shade on this route and the sun was out (I wondered what that bright light in the sky was), the humidity coming out of the lawns was very oppressive. There is nowhere along the route to get a snack until 12.5 miles and I stopped there and had a large Snickers bar. But once I was that far behind I could never catch up, so I rode whipped the whole way.
