Weather was optimal with warm temperatures and a slight west wind. Thought my legs might be sore after yesterday's hard climbing but that wasn't the case. Ride today only had two climbs with a long climb out of Watkins to Dundee and a milder climb up through Chubb Hollow. Didn't push too hard on the steep section of the first climb but got to Irelandville with a decent time despite the lack of effort. Decided to push the pace and try to get my fifteen miles in before the first hour ran out. I was able to and did so fairly easily today as could push the big gear in the crosswind and didn't waste much time getting through the bridge repair. Didn't make sixteen to Dundee but was happy nonetheless with the climbing speed. Had a good climb up through Chubb Hollow that is a fairly easy climb this late in the year without the north wind blowing. As I made the turn above Himrod, I thought I might have a shot at an eighteen average if I pushed hard and hit the lights green through Watkins. I actually had a fun as I worked my way through the Mennonite buggies as they returned home from church. Occasionally one driver would let the horse run as I went buy. Probably entertaining the children and the horse by racing a bike. Made good time but fell short of the eighteen though it was more lack of speed than stoplights that caused my downfall. Still had a good time on the bike today.
