 Dear Deer
Heading to the state fair today so got up at first light to get a short ride in before the trip. Headed out default route up Johnson Hollow. Legs were tired from all the climbs I've done in the last couple of days and wasn't easy to keep them going. Some guy stopped his car and took my picture today which seemed kind of odd. Hope it came out alright. Ride was uneventful except for the dozen or so deer I saw. I guess they rule the roads in the early morning. Was saddened by a dead fawn who must have gotten hit last night but was soon gladdened a little way up the road when an older fawn, or yearling I guess, stood in the road and watched me approach then bounded off at the last minute. Had to yell at another group of them that were standing in the road as I came back into town. They obviously have no fear of bicycles.
