 And That's a (double) Winner
We won both of our softball games tonight - thus winning the St Louis Metro Baptist Association championship for the 7th time in 9 years.

The first game was against Risen Lord, and team from within our league that we split the season series with. We, once again, jumped out with 4 runs in the top of the first inning, and they were not able to get any offense rolling in the game as we completed the game with a 15-4 victory.

We then turned around to play the team the won in the first game, Light House Baptist. The interesting thing here is two of their players used to play for us. The first, Kevin, is the son and brother of a couple players of ours, that married a gal that grew up at LH. The other was a friend of Kevin's. We (both teams) have been looking for this match-up the last couple years, but it hadn't matrialized until tonight. They were the vistors and scratched out a couple runs in the first, while we were not able to match it. They added another run in the second while we got on the board with one run in our half. We held them scoreless in the third, then turned around and batted around and pushed 6 runs across, taking a 7-3 lead. We maintained a 9-5 lead going into the 7th inning. They got a rally started, pushed two runs across and had two on with two outs when their #3 hitter, Shawn (Kevin's friend) came to the plate. Knowing how good of a hitter he is, plus he cranked one over the fence in the 6th, he was intentionally walkd. The next batter ended up hitting a dribbling ground ball back to our pitcher, who threw it to first to record the final out of the game, and a 9-7 victory.
