Was out late last night after seeing Three Dog Night perform at the state fair. Really kind of sureal watching a rock band perform when you consider most of the band is seventy or better. Pretty good show though. Usually take a short ride the day before a race but since tomorrow's race is a short crit in Binghamton that I plan on doing nothing but drafting in, I opted for a moderate ride. Another bad climb up Odessa Hill. Can't really understand how I climb really well one day and can barely climb a couple of days later. Virus infestation probably isn't helping matters much. Took it easy to Van Etten and nursed myself up Swartout Hill. But once the hills were out of the way it was a nice twenty mile gradual descent. Nearly got clipped by a car door going through Hanover Square. Guy apologized though, so I gave him a friendly no harm done wave. Was happy to have dodged a bullet today. Thought I might see some cyclists out today for sure but none were evident. Still feel sick and fatigued. Hope to just hang on in tomorrow's race. Feel bad enough that I wouldn't go but I already spent the money by pre-registering.
