Planned on doing some climbing up in the Foot Hills area but after climbing up Old Odessa turned to head up Lower Foots and found that the approach had been newly oiled and stoned. Used my better judgement and decided not to take the fifteen percent grade in two inches of loose sharp stones. Turned back toward Odessa and planned on heading up Ridge Road and found out the stone fairies had also dusted part of Speedway. Only had a short section though and headed up toward Catherine. Saw that the skies were opening up further up the road so veered off again and headed down Jackson Hill and back to the house. Got pelted with some objects but wasn't sure whether it was bugs or raindrops that were striking me on the descent. Guess ten miles is better than nothing but can't risk getting soaked as am already suffering from various cold spores and viruses.
