Commute #73 to close the month of Aug.
I had the camera mounted today to take some pictures of my new route to work. On the way home, I was about a 1/2 mile into my ride & I turned the camera to the right to catch a picture of a couple bikes locked to a fence - usually there's only one bike, so I wonder if there's a new bike commuter there - but anyway, the battery compartment of the camera popped open and the batteries fell out and onto the road. I collected them, put them back in and was under way again.
A few miles later, I was just toodling along and all of a sudden I hear a thud-thud, and turn around to look to see my water bottle laying in the middle of the road, the lid popped off and all my water running out. At first I thought I just didn't get it seated down into the cage after my last drink and it just joslted out from the bumps in the road - no, the cage broke from the mounting bracket. Ugh. I put the empty bottle in the other cage and continued on home.
There were no other incidents the rest of the way home.
