While riding my bike to work this moring (yes I did), I was reflecting on two things. First, was after the remnants of Katrina came through the STL area (7 years ago) and the clean up that was going on that weekend while I was on a bike ride. I don't remember there being lots of rain and flooding, like Ike a couple years ago, just the trees, branches and such through out the streets as I traveled mainly through the west county area.
Secondly I reflected on the last day, more specifically the last 10+ miles, of my cross country bike tour. That was the only time on the entire trip that we encountered rain and it wasn't like sprinkles, it was heavy down pours as tropical storm Tammy sat off the coast of Charleston, SC.
What is STL in for during the next 48+ hours as the remnants of Isaac makes its way here? I am prepared to ride home this afternoon/evening, but we' ll see what Isaac delivers to see if it will be like riding through Tammy or not. I know it won't be sunny, like the day I was riding around the debris from Katrina. If it looks bad enough, Jacquelyn drove the truck so she could pick me up on her way home from work (I call that Plan B).
